Rodolfo Benavides: A Mexican Writer and Researcher of the Pyramids

Rodolfo Benavides (1907-1998) was a Mexican writer, miner, and bracero who dedicated his life to the study of the Great Pyramid of Giza and its prophecies. He wrote several books on the subject, such as Dramáticas profecías de la Gran Pirámide (Dramatic Prophecies of the Great Pyramid) and La Gran Pirámide habla (The Great Pyramid Speaks), which have been translated into many languages and have sold millions of copies worldwide. He also wrote a dictionary of dreams, Diccionario de los sueños (Dictionary of Dreams), based on his own experiences and research.

Benavides was born in Pachuca, Hidalgo, on July 28, 1907. He came from a humble family and had to work from an early age to support himself. He worked as a miner in various states of Mexico, such as Zacatecas, Durango, and Sonora. He also participated in the Bracero Program, a bilateral agreement between Mexico and the United States that allowed Mexican workers to temporarily work in the US agricultural sector from 1942 to 1964. He used his earnings to buy books and magazines on various topics, such as history, science, philosophy, and religion.

Benavides became interested in the Great Pyramid of Giza after reading a book by Charles Piazzi Smyth, a Scottish astronomer who claimed that the pyramid was built by divine inspiration and encoded a prophetic message for humanity. Benavides decided to investigate the pyramid's measurements, geometry, and symbolism, using his own mathematical calculations and intuition. He claimed that he discovered a hidden chamber inside the pyramid that contained a stone sarcophagus with a mummy and a papyrus scroll with the secrets of the past and the future.

Benavides published his first book on the pyramid, Dramáticas profecías de la Gran Pirámide, in 1958. In this book, he predicted that the world would face a series of cataclysms and wars until the year 2000, when a new era of peace and harmony would begin under the guidance of a spiritual leader. He also predicted that Mexico would play a key role in this process, as it was the cradle of an ancient civilization that had a connection with the pyramid builders. He updated his predictions in later editions of his book, adding new events and dates based on his interpretation of the pyramid's cycles.

Benavides' books were very popular among readers who were fascinated by the mysteries of the pyramid and its prophecies. His books were also criticized by scholars and skeptics who questioned his methods and sources. Benavides defended his work by saying that he was not a scientist or a historian, but a seeker of truth who followed his intuition and faith. He died in Mexico City on January 14, 1998, at the age of 90.
